The Economist released a story over the weekend on the divide between two wings of the Republican Party, between conservative organizations and House Republicans led by Speaker John Boehner. The WG’s David Winston commented about how strategy plays a role:
Though it may sound like something else, the argument is about tactics rather than beliefs. “The leadership is saying to these groups: if you have a point of view then you have to come up with a workable strategy to make it happen,” says David Winston, a Republican pollster.
