Biography

Kristen Soltis is the Director of Policy Research at The Winston Group and has been with The Winston Group since 2005.

Soltis is a contributor at The Huffington Post, The Daily Caller, Pollster.com and POLITICO Arena, and has also written for National Review Online, The Washington Examiner, The American Spectator, POLITICO, The Next Right and The Orlando Sentinel.

Soltis has provided on-air political commentary for CNN and a variety of radio programs including KCRW’s “To The Point with Warren Olney” and Talk Radio Network’s “America’s Morning News”. She has appeared internationally on networks including RT, BBC Radio and Ireland’s RTE. Additionally, she is the host of online political talk show “The Right Idea.”

Her research primarily focuses on election trends, young voters, political parties, and education policy. She has also been published in the academic journal American Politics Research for her research on campaign finance reform. She has been quoted in articles online and in-print for Newsweek, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Reason.com and the Christian Science Monitor.

Soltis graduated summa cum laude from Johns Hopkins University with her M.A in Government where her thesis work on the Republican Party and young voters received the honor of “Best Thesis in the Area of Democratic Processes.” She is a proud Gator, having received her B.A. in political science from the University of Florida. She is also a graduate of the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University.

Originally from Orlando, FL, Soltis currently resides in Washington, DC.
